Summer is here and it’s time to soak up the sun! The internet has been buzzing about the term “hot girl summer” and we’re totally here for it. “Hot girl summer” is all about living your best life and becoming the best version of yourself. By transforming your mindset, you will radiate from the inside out. It’s never a bad time for a lifestyle change so why not start now when the sun is shining and our motivation is at an all time high.

Here are some tips on how to live it up during your ‘Hot Girl Summer..’
1. You are in charge of your own happiness
It’s plain and simple. You may not control the events of your day but how you deal with every situation is very powerful. You have the ability to turn a bad day into an amazing one! If you are feeling down, be proactive and do something to make you feel great! Crush a workout in the gym, go on a walk and strut down the street in your favorite pair of sunglasses, dance and blast some tunes or just call a friend or family member. Discovering ways that work for YOU to boost your mood is key. The next time you are not feeling your best, take a moment to identify with your emotions and do one of those activities you identified as your ultimate mood booster! Also, remember to reassure yourself that the emotions you are feeling are temporary. Time truly heals all and tomorrow is another reason to smile.
2. Be true to yourself
Focusing on what others think about you is a total waste of time and energy. Sometimes, we all feel a little self conscious or worry too much about how others perceive us, but this anxiety is only hurting you and preventing you from living your truth. Let go of that fear of disapproval and put yourself first. Do things that make you feel good and surround yourself with positive people who value your authentic self. You should never change who you are in order to seek approval from others. This isn’t being selfish, it’s about being true to who you are.
3. Stop comparing yourself to others, you are one of a kind!
They say comparison is the thief of joy. When we compare ourselves to others, we create unrealistic expectations and focus on things we don’t have. This breeds negative energy as well as feelings of jealousy, inadequateness and failure. We may feel defeated and get down on ourselves but instead, I challenge you to appreciate the things in life you do have. Instead of looking at other people, focus on yourself and own it. Write down 5 things you are proud of, things you love about yourself (physically, emotionally, etc.) and things that make you YOU. We are all unique and that is something worth celebrating.
